Coca-Cola in Serbia
Coca-Cola HBC Serbia is the country’s largest soft drinks producer. With its extended portfolio containing of leading carbonated, non-carbonated and water brands, the company has two production facilities with seven production lines. The headquarter is located in Belgrade, occupying around 65,000 square meters of land, with six production lines, a warehouse and business premises. Modern facilities for production of the leading natural still water “Rosa” are located at the South of the country. Recently, one of the leading juice producers in the local market, Fresh&Co, with its facilities located at the North, joined the Coca-Cola family.

The history of Coca Cola in Serbia starts in 1967, when the state-owned beverage Company Slovin obtained a licence from Coca-Cola to produce and sell its products in the country. A new Coca-Cola bottling plant was built in Zenum, outskirts of Belgrade and production started in September 1968. In 1970, Slovin also became an authorised bottler of Schweppes beverages, which were produced at its original plant in Zemun, alongside local brands Cockta and Jupi. In 1989, Slovin merged both its bottling operations to form IBP 'Beograd' A.D.

In 1997, the hellenic bottling Company acquired IBP 'Beograd A.D, thus making one of the largest foreign investments in the former FR Yugoslavia. During 1999 and 2000, as with many other businesses in the region, Coca-Cola operations were jeopardized by the conflict in the Balkans and the NATO bombings, but due to considerable dedication, employees’ effort and a close relationship with customers and consumers, production never ceased and, instead, business has continued to grow steadily. Since 1997, Coca-Cola HBC has significantly raised the level of investment in the country, tripled the production capacities and intensified business operations in all fields. New flavors have been continuously introduced, all production lines have been constantly upgraded and during 2004 and 2005 only, two new modern PET and CAN lines were introduced.

Today, Coca-Cola HBC Serbia & Montenegro produces and sells 54 SKUs, employs more then 1000 people and with more then 3,000 business partners creates one of the most successful business systems in the country.
